Every Client deserves a criminal defense lawyer committed to the delivery of quality representation. This requires personal attention and a personal commitment from the lawyer to
focus upon the best interests of the Client for his or her unique case. The lawyer has a duty to assist each Client in weighing their options and choosing the best option for them. Cases are not delegated to a legal assistant or to an inexperienced associate. I maintain an active federal and state criminal defense practice. I represent clients in federal criminal cases throughout the country while maintaining an active state criminal defense practice in the Texas State Courts. My success is a result of diligence, philosophy, experience as a former prosecutor and almost 25 years of practice in criminal law.
Since 1991, I have dedicated my practice exclusively to federal and state criminal defense. With a nationwide reputation and enviable record as a litigator, I apply all of my experience to defending each client, often using innovative theories or techniques to get the best possible results.
I represent clients in all areas of criminal law, including federal drug cases, federal fraud cases, felonies, white collar crimes, embezzlement, money laundering, mail fraud, violent crimes, homicide, manslaughter, capital offenses, habeas corpus, sex crimes, assault, theft, misdemeanors and other actions. For a more complete description of the firm's practice, see Practice Areas.
As a former prosecutor, I know that each case has its own unique problems and opportunities. My success is founded on the personal attention I provide to each client's case and my commitment to focusing on the client's best interests. I am careful to seek out and examine all of a client's options, and takes a proactive approach to managing each case.
While the best results can always be obtained by hiring an exceptional attorney as soon as possible after a client discovers he or she is facing criminal charges, I am also often sought by clients in the later stages of a case. While the options are fewer once a client has been convicted or entered a guilty plea, there are still options that can and should be vigorously pursued. I have a reputation for being able to uncover those options and salvage cases that are going badly, whether at sentencing or on appeal. If you have been convicted or entered a guilty plea, it is more critical than ever to make sure you have an attorney who really knows what he is doing, because you don't have many chances left.
I know that all of my experience and good advice won't help a client at all if he or she is frightened or uninformed. An important part of my representation is close, frequent, one-on-one contact with each client. I makes sure each client is informed and prepared to listen and understand what is happening with his or her case, so that when quick decisions are necessary, the client can move forward with confidence and take advantage of every opportunity.
